day one disaster

I got the balloon .. success !

since last Saturday I have had earache . As the week has gone on the earache has progressed. I have happily popping painkillers hoping it will pass before the dreaded swine flu reaches us . I want to be healthy ( hopefully enough to fight it off easily! ) I have no doubt it will come ... its just our luck .

This afternoon the pain in my ear increased and there was a warm tingling burning sensation running up the side of my head and across my face . . my teeth hurt and my nose tingled .. i could feel the infection spreading . I called the GP .. I couldn't bare the thought of starting summer holidays DAY 1 with a painful ear infection .

The GP looked in my ear.. I don't have an ear infection . After lots of poking prodding and pressing here there and everywhere .. he threw cotton balls in my face and stroked my eye balls with a hair .. and all sorts of other witch craft type experiments . He decided that I had something called Trigeminal Neuralgia . By this time I didn't CARE i just wanted the pressure on my head to STOP . He gave me a script for tegretol and told me to come back on Monday but to go straight to hospital if I was unwell in the meantime with any kind of sickness . I went to collect the prescription . By the time I came home with my meds the GP had called already and was chatting to mike to explained more about the headache that initially started this face ache . As well as my left eye being a little droopy today it had been previously much worse ( last Sunday) The doctor had called to say he had spoken to another specialist and my bed was waiting at the local hospital . UGH I have EAR ACHE !!!!!!!! please don't over react !!!!!!!!!! .. I am not going to the hospital as it is Lindsay's 13Th Birthday tomorrow and I think it would be utterly unforgivable for her mother not to wake her in the morning with the traditional chorus . Certain they wouldn't DO an awful lot for me until tomorrow morning I have managed to delay thing until the morning . I have to be at the hospital acute medical unit at 9am for a ct scan .
I am hoping they find a brain .. and an ear infection ! and nothing more sinister . The GP is not convinced and adamant there is NO ear infection .
