It is the "feeling that what is wanted can be had or that events will turn out for the best" or the act of "looking forward to with desire and reasonable confidence" or "feeling that something desired may happen". "to cherish a desire with anticipation"; "to desire with expectation of obtainment" "to expect with confidence". In the English language the word can be used as either a noun or a verb, although hope as a concept has a similar meaning.

I had the scan , you seem to have misread that bit. The babys name is Hope for many reasons she holds alot of Hope in her future for us all .
This isnt my partners first child at all . Sadly he does have another child that he hasnt been allowed to build a proper relationship with so unfortunately she isnt really as special one might have hoped a first or any child would be . Kind of sad but we have all moved on with our lives and so much has changed now, its very much a thing of the past .
Unfortunately the child is the only one to suffer in these circumstances .
My chidren will all have great relationships with their father . My ex husband and I are a great example of how things CAN work and how people dont need to be bitter towards each other where children are concerned .
Having had 3 children already I can assure you that each and every child is special in its own way and parents never feel that one is more special than the other . But if you have never got to know a child and have no contact with them its virtually impossible to guess what the relationship may have been like and not one to dwell too much upon.
Hope is a chance for him to build a relationship that he wants, with a child of his own, in his own way. Just as my others girls father has been allowed to . I have every confidence hes going to be the perfect daddy <3
